If this Eclipse is proving to be a bit of a whirlwind for you, hang in there: grab some tea, coffee or warm cider and enjoy the practical eclipse-navigation insight below!
Two-Week Astrology Report:
Tuesday, October 25th: The Scorpio Solar Eclipse conjunct Evening Star Venus delivers the romantic finesse and investigate prowess to plunge ourselves into the depths of the human heart and return calmly acquainted with the mysteries held therein. It’s a time for intimate bonding with the people in our innermost circle — not in a theatrical cacao-ceremony kind of way but actually braving their unmapped terrain to better understand, relate to, communicate with and love them — and it’s also a powerful time to reacquaint ourselves with our own hidden depths, shadowy corners and any facets of our emotional complexity usually obscured from our everyday awareness (and in fact, we may not have a choice — it’s basically impossible to evade our truth amidst the intensity of a Scorpio Solar Eclipse Moon, particularly with Saturn having recently turned direct introducing a whirlwind of pragmatic, and potentially heavy, realizations or clarifying factors.) Essential oils, stones and scent evoke powerful memories and insight today — even for those not necessarily ultra-sensitive or automatically attuned— and note that others are also feeling amped by the moment’s Eclipse energy but may not know how to channel it as productively, causing them to act out in ways that seem uncharacteristic or surprising as they battle their own inner complexity. As with any New Moon, Solar Eclipses are powerful opportunities to forge new beginnings, cultivate new habits, upgrade a mindset or generate a fresh start, but it’s worth treading carefully at the moment given the generally rocky terrain and looming potential for edginess or upset. Something in our sphere is ready to be morphed — it’s hinted at by whatever house occupies the early degrees of Scorpio in the birth chart — so stay with your vision despite any outside resistance or disappointing feedback and in the meantime, channel the moment’s transformative Scorpio energy into powerful regenerative or recovery feats or an abrupt personal healing, alchemy, or rebirth. The Eclipse’s Venusian influence brings whatever (or whoever) we most love, value and prioritize sharply into focus: it’s potentially a catalyst for deep bonding moments, creative inspiration or the resurrection of latent passions but it can introduce an unpleasant level of intensity into a relationship or psychological landscape if the individual doesn’t return or appreciate the affection, for example, or the beloved object, person or place isn’t imminently accessible. Embodying Haute Scorpio qualities — i.e., a healthy amount of inscrutability around strangers or business colleagues (but openness in more meaningful relationships), heightened awareness of a situation’s undercurrents and the investigative pursuit of our strongest passions, inner stirrings and deepest truths — is not only a buffer against Eclipse angst but could prompt a game-changing success, revelation or at least a moment of increased self-understanding. Unrelatedly, pay attention to today’s instincts around how to save, spend, earn or invest cash — Scorpio New Moons (particularly when aligned to Venus) clarify our values and priorities, direct us toward mutually-beneficial money-making alliances and show us how to generate wealth quickly as we merge, spend or secure existing resource.
Wednesday, October 26th: Mercury in Libra harmonizes with Mars in Gemini — it’s awesome for translating a concept or theory into practical inspired action and balancing out our sometimes conflicting self-assertion and diplomacy urges, promoting a generally harmonious, easy-breezy yet productive and solution-oriented vibe. This aspect also heightens our intuition around risk-taking: trust instincts today around whether or not to take a specific chance and when/how to go about doing so (or not!) and welcome it as an opportunity to secure deals and lay the groundwork for future restructuring.
Thursday, October 27th: Mercury and Pluto Square — it’s a well-known muckraker that clarifies hidden motivations and brings underlying corrupting influences to light. At the macrocosmic level, we can usually expect a game-changing reveal or the emergence of a political scandal or shady behind-the-scenes dealing, but it may also play out within the context of your personal microcosm as new information emerging that changes or evolves a perspective, opinion, mindset or relationship. We’re also more sensitive to the subliminal undercurrents running through our relationships (including those which are purely surface or transactional), bringing unfair power dynamics and controlling or manipulative behavior starkly into our conscious awareness. This influence is punk-rock, encouraging us to question that which we’ve always simply accepted as truth, so work with it to excavate and transform old or outdated beliefs, to dig deeper into your psyche and to channel the moment’s heightened mental focus and investigative instinct into self-analysis or the accomplishment of goals (or immersing yourself in a good mystery/thriller — if you haven’t seen it yet, I totally recommend The Watcher on Netflix. It’s creepy and not for those who get scared easily, but it’s very Mercury/Pluto and will give your brain a problem to solve if you find yourself treading down a paranoia spiral or obsessing over something unproductive in your own life!)
Friday, October 28th: Jupiter re-enters Pisces after turning retrograde in Aries in late July — we got a taste of this energy from May 13th — late July of 2021 and again from December 28th — May of 2022 so to assess how this transit may influence your microcosm specifically, reflect back on the vibe of those time periods (and consult where the later degrees of Pisces reside in your birth chart.) Generally and macrocosmically, though, it’s a helpful influence: Jupiter was actually the OG ruler of Pisces in Classical astrology before the discovery of Neptune in 1846, so the Lord of Largesse is actually quite comfortable transiting the watery sign of the Fish. It might take a moment to acclimate to the new vibe — Zen Pisces is massively different from goal-oriented and productive Aries — so you may feel a little sleepy, sensitive or impressionable today but once adjusted, you’ll notice that this Astro favors hopefulness, optimism, ease and faith-based solutions over the action-oriented Aries approach. Historically, there’s always a revival of alternative healing and interest in magick and mysticism when Jupiter visits this spiritual sign. But the major downside of this transit is that it can lay the groundwork for spiritual fanaticism, excessive escapism and falling for a full-on fantasy— it can be difficult to discern an all-powerful wizard from a weasel of a man hiding behind a gossamer green curtain so as always, try not to hop on any groundless hype without proper fact-checking and a healthy dose of skepticism and self-control. In late December, the largest planet in the galaxy returns to Aries and it’s full-speed ahead — until then, enjoy the invitation of the next couple months to be more present and purposeful and to return to any artistic or spiritual practices which comfort you.
Saturday, October 29th: Mercury enters stealth Scorpio until late November, joining the Sun/Venus alignment in the sign of the Phoenix. It’s fabulous for pulling off categorically unrealistic mental feats — like reading a whole novel in a day or writing a 10-page paper in a night (not that I’d obviously recommend this!) — and our strengthened ability to concentrate our mental energy and direct it toward a particular object or outcome is either massively helpful and rewarding or simply unproductive and even painful (depending on how we ultimately choose to channel it!) Compulsive obsession and paranoia can be the major downside of this transit (stop yourself immediately from collecting evidence to confirm a genuinely unhinged, irrational or hyperbolic suspicion or accusation!) but if not misused, the moment’s focused, probing mindset is problem-solving and channeled usefully into the collection, analyzing and synthesizing of data; ideally, it’s not the time to complete a thought and send it out for publishing or approval — it’s better suited for quietly building a case and forming a well-researched thesis, opinion or statement — and if others think you’re being slightly obsessive, it actually means your tapping into the fullness of this focused energy. As long as the object of your fixation is productive, energizing and temporary (that is, it’s actively leading you toward a distinct finish line or helpful realization), stay the course and enjoy the results of your mental labor by later in November. But while this mental intensity and investigate prowess is massively helpful when applied to the career/academic spaces, it can be less productive in the realm of intimacy and relationships. Our instinct is to self-protect and armor up, but depending on the nature and stage of an intimate relationship or friendship, maintaining an enigmatic aura of mystery at the expense of transparency is not necessarily good protocol. Save big reveals to the public for later and if someone brings you in on something from their personal vault, respect the unwavering Scorpio commitment to confidentiality and tuck away the intel. Otherwise, openness in relationship is the moment’s optimal approach, and pay attention to nonverbal forms of communication such as body language, scent, eye contact, and timely silence. They’re massively revealing now, and we’re particularly attuned to these indicators and the subtle undercurrents running through even casual chat and everyday dialogue.
Sunday, October 30th: Mars turns retrograde in Gemini until January of next year, a symbolic signal to pause or retreat with regard to any conflict or hostile acts of aggression. While healthy self-assertion is always in style, it’s not an advisable time to initiate a lawsuit, for example, or even to respond to daily micro-aggressions with returned acrimony or other tension-escalating behavior. It might sound annoying but think diplomacy and problem-solving dialogue or, if the situation is truly intolerable and unfixable, try to extract yourself safely from the conflict if you can; any hostility reinforced now will threaten to drag on way longer than desired or anticipated and could also rack up unintended consequences long-term. If a conflict isn’t important enough to pursue resolve or severe enough to warrant a full-on cancellation, consider waving the white flag or writing up a peace treaty — otherwise, the moment’s best protocol is to remove oneself altogether or seek to solve the problem directly. It’s a fabulous time for marinating in creative insight, but you could find yourself dabbling in several ideas or projects which you then don’t feel compelled to finish — it’s all part of the process, and by winter, you’ll have greater clarity around where to invest your mental and creative energy and the necessary focus to complete the final touches and fully realize the project if desired. Committing to a decisive course of action could be difficult over the next few months in light of so many distractions and shiny prospects or opportunities — don’t rush the process or settle for a cheap alternative to what you actually want. Take the moment to pause and carefully consider your options!
Wednesday, November 2nd: Venus is the first of several planets this week to conjunct the South Node — it’s a once-yearly event that presents an opportunity to re-write an old story around something Venusian (such as love, style, body-image, values, comfort, money, etc.) which sounds crushingly vague but when your unique moment surfaces, it’ll be very specific to you. An ex pops up asking to get coffee (or an eerily familiar-feeling person asks you on a date and, even though they’re giving off red-flags, they’re mesmerizing), the same money challenge or invitation to assess your priorities re-emerges or suddenly everything hanging in your closet feels like it was purchased by an older (and no longer relevant) version of you. The North Node in astrology represents where destiny and free-will come together — it’s where we make the decisions that ultimately guide us toward alignment and help us realize our potential— while the South Node represents lives already lived (or if talk of past lives is unrelatable to you, just think past vs. future.) Astrologically, we’re well-advised to shun the South Node and embrace the North Node for optimal results — it isn’t always this simple, of course, but in this context it’s fair to say — so accept today’s invitation to do something different and forge a new path by responding to the same challenge in a fresh, new way (and if something feels familiar but not necessarily aligned, do the more aligned thing.) It’s not a matter of right or wrong — you’ve heard me say before that the role of astrology isn’t to make value judgments — but if we take a step toward alignment today by breaking up with our past and not repeating old patterns, we’ll access a deeper level of our Venusian vibe.
Saturday, November 5th: The Sun conjuncts the South Node which is an opportunity to update or evolve the ways in which we self-express and self-identify; it may or may not come from an external invitation but even if it does, it’s likely to be subtle (don’t expect a life-changing phone call or a literal knock at the door from Destiny!) but it is nonetheless significant, even if only an inner shift or a subtle urging to take a new direction creatively or wear a particular outfit. Again, do the thing that feels more aligned — not the thing that feels more familiar — and because the South Node is currently in Scorpio, it’s a good time to think about how we express, identify and empower ourselves via our values, resources, power dynamics, sex appeal and wealth. Venus and Uranus also form an Opposition which is a romantic catalyst; with Uranus in familiarity-loving Taurus, nesting instincts could clash with a desire for space, mystery, boundaries and eroticism, but regardless of which side of the spectrum you’re erring on, kindly articulate your needs to a lover without overthinking their response and conversely, if a lover asks for a little space or confirmation of a deeper commitment, respond kindly and honestly while honoring their needs and boundaries and not taking their request personally or as a reflection of the relationship’s overall health. If dating, this is an awesome transit for magnetizing cool, quirky connections with an unconventional or unexpected twist - open-mindedness and a willingness to consider prospects outside of your usual type is rewarded and could lead to a fulfilling outcome.
Monday, November 7th: Seductive Venus in Scorpio Squares Saturn in Aquarius which could bring flimsy connections or surface-level flings to an abrupt, screeching halt. If dating multiple prospects, think of this Astro as a romantic reality-check and highly effective astrological filter: if someone in your rotation is outright not a match to you, it’s likely to be revealed at this point as an obvious deal-breaker emerges or value conflict arises. If you’re already in a committed partnership, this twice-annual Astro is a natural point to conduct any routine emotional housekeeping. Are you both still equally invested in the union? Is the current relationship model still work serving and working for both of you? If you’re thinking about taking a casual relationship to the next level, it’s a good time to pose the hard questions to the other party and yourself, ensuring that their values are ultimately in line with yours. Do they want kids? What are their deal-breakers? What kind of relationship are they looking for? Do their answers line up with their behavior and your experience of who they are, and does this fit in with your life and the direct you’re moving in? It may or may not be a super “fun” conversation, but Venus square Saturn is a gift and always favors a mature, long-term approach. It’s also a fabulous time to conduct quality control in other Venusian areas of life such as your closet, makeup bag or investment account, particularly where there’s a practical or functional component. It’s a good time to purge what no longer fits and fill that empty space with quality investments — feel good about treating yourself to a professional cut or color, for example, a fall jacket that will last a lifetime or a really high-quality skincare product to accommodate your body’s changing needs.
Tarot Card for the Scorpio Solar Eclipse: The Ten of Wands
The Ten of Wands (pulled from The Anima Mundi Tarot by Megan Wyreweden) is a card about beginning and ending a particular cycle or season of our life, usually because something about our way of being, thinking or feeling has reached a point where it’s no longer beneficial, relevant or sustainable. In the Tarot, the Wands suit represents the fire element — it governs the adrenal glands and connects us with our life force, our energy and excitement levels, our passion and creative output, and really anything that lights us up and engages the flame within. The Ten of Wands is the final moment in that journey when we realize not only the importance of stoking the inner fire and plugging ourselves into whatever regenerates our spark, connecting us to our sense of passion and purpose, but of moving through the world in such a way that we’re also honoring our personal limitations and capacity levels. The bundle of wands depicted in the card’s artwork represent anything that we apply energy to or actively carry alongside us including our dreams and goals, our obligations and contractual agreements, friendships and relationships, and even our habits and mental processes and the belief systems we hold about the world and our place within it. Pulling this card isn’t a signal that we’ve done something “wrong”, stepped off path or even that we’ve overextended and burnt ourselves out — instead, it should be thought of as a gentle invitation into a process of review. Sometimes it arises when something that once lit us up — a business idea, a relationship or a home renovation project, for example — has now become a source of energy depletion and adrenal fatigue, while other times the pictured wands symbolize not external projects or tangible things but our internalized habits, rituals and even our belief systems, some of which have been in place since our teens or even early childhood and have never undergone mature review or faced healthy scrutiny. Sometimes, we uncover that something in our pile was never necessarily ours to hold such as a once-helpful but now maladaptive inherited belief, trauma response, or even a subconscious behavioral pattern, imposed upon us by our community, family-of-origin, or other institution and if this is the case, we may feel compelled to totally abandon what no long servers in favor of developing new habits or beliefs founded on who we are now and who we intend to grow into. There are also situations where we decide that everything in the bundle has a right to be there and in these instances, some light re-configuration or redistributing the weight in the form of asking for help or initiating a boundary is all that’s needed to make your metaphorical pile of wands not only more manageable but more enjoyable and sustainable to engage with. You may find, for example, that the solution is to hire a babysitter or invest in personal assistant, to cut back your business hours or shut off your phone past 9 — or, you could decide to burn it all down from the basement and start again, a la the Tower (for more insight into your unique situation, pull a clarifying card from your own deck!) In order to reach our goals and stoke our inner fire, the Scorpio New Moon urges us to conduct a routine review with regard to what lights us up and what might actually be stealing our energy, even if well-meaning or once joyful. If we’re willing to do this work, we’ll experience a rebirth of the inner fire, leaving us with more energy, passion, enthusiasm and purpose in this new cycle!
Journal Prompt for the Scorpio New Moon
Under the piercing glare of the Scorpio New Moon, it will be difficult to overlook anything that isn’t quite sitting well with us or aligning with our authentic truth. We could view this as inconvenient and get Eclipse-level cranky and moody (and trust me, some people will!), or we can take the more empowered approach and get proactive about what needs to change in order for us to feel good in our lives. If my interpretation of the Ten of Wands is resonating with you — and what the heck, even if it’s not — journal today about where your energy levels are. Barring physical illness or underlying health issues, chronic fatigue and adrenal burnout are big indicators that something in our lives is depleting our energy and requiring more focus and investment than what it might actually be worth. Rate your energy today on a scale of 1-10 — there’s absolutely no judgment about your number, BTW — and then, write about what you feel would get you to that proverbial 10. Are there actively people, relationships or obligations in your life right now that are draining you and feel like a lot of emotional labor to engage with? Is your physical workload too heavy, your hours too long or just inconvenient for your natural body’s rhythm? Are there any belief systems that have come up recently that once served you but maybe now seem to be holding you back? Without judgment, allow yourself to stream-of-consciousness write about your energy levels and whether or not the Ten of Wands is resonating with you at this time.

This is just an extra offering! For more information on my Tarot Course & whether or not it may be for you, keep reading!
October is the time where everyone wants a Tarot Reading, but within the last few years, I’ve stopped offering them (as you know, if you’re a long-term client of mine!) because I discovered that what I’m much more passionate about than interpreting for others is empowering people to use the Tarot themselves in conjunction with their own innate wisdom to uplift themselves, initiate personal growth and gain clarity in their lives quickly and as they my require it, in-the-moment and without seeking additional assistance or needing to dish out cash. As someone that receives my twice-monthly newsletters, you’re already familiar with my unique interpretation style and this is how I’ll be teaching the Tarot: as a tool for manifestation, creation and personal empowerment. The course will cover everything from card theory to how to organize and frame questions to garner satisfying, clear and immediately applicable insights.
A Few Notes About What the Coarse Is (& Isn’t!):
🔮This course is for everyone, whether you’re already an experienced interpreter with an existing practice, an occasional dabbler or a total novice. You’ll be able to keep up and enjoy the content, regardless of your experience level (and if you’re someone who already has an active practice, this course will only expand and enrich your current understanding!)
🌕You’ll have direct access to me at all times — and the rest of the community — for questions or guidance.
🙏Our focus in this course is on helping you cultivate a private, personalized Tarot practice that is meaningful, relevant, applicable, empowering and most importantly, unique to you – it’s not a certification process or training program to become a professional tarot reader to the general public. This course is for you.
🍎The content of this course differs pretty dramatically from that of other tarot courses in that it’s based in the principles of empowerment and self-awareness, anchored in the assumption that we’re all magicians who create our lives and dictate our own outcomes. Rather than a crutch or a tool through which we outsource our power, the Tarot is discussed here as a tool to support us as we make aligned and empowered decisions, manifest our optimal conditions, gain deeper self-awareness and ultimately move toward our desired results.
✏Never will I claim to be the single authority on Tarot nor an expert over your inner guidance – as always with regard to my or other teachings and opinions, take what works and discard the rest. The goal of this course is to help you establish meaning and cultivate a relationship with the 78 cards that works for you — my role is to present ideas and interpretations, along with approaches and practices that work for me, in order to facilitate you creating your own.
🌑Like the Tarot itself, this class is non-chronological and you’re urged to go at your own pace; while the individual lessons may provide context for the others, it doesn’t necessarily matter where you start or how quickly you make your way through the individual lessons respectively. Once enrolled, you’ll be directly emailed every time a new lesson is released. The coarse model is one in-depth lesson a month, giving you ample time to go at your own pace and really integrate and synthesize the wisdom before we move forward. We’ll ultimately be making our way through every card individually, while also discussing card theory and how to cultivate a meaningful and satisfying Tarot practice more generally.
✨There are no pre-reqs for this course, but I do recommend picking up the book Seventy-Eight Degrees of Wisdom by Rachel Pollack – it’s the book on Tarot Theory which most inspires and complements the material we’ll be discussing within this course. I’m also going to recommend that you pick up a tarot deck of your choosing if you don’t already have one and a journal, but none of the aforementioned are mandatory.
🔮You’ll continue to receive lessons here in your inbox for as long as you’re subscribed. Subscribe on a monthly basis (cancel anytime) or for the year.
☕As a paid subscriber to my newsletter, you’ll still receive additional bonus content, e-mailed directly to you throughout the year, in addition to your once-a-month Tarot lesson and full access to the course’s existing content and my monthly New and Full Moon newsletters!
🌻This course doesn’t assume that those participating have any enhanced intuitive abilities or religious or spiritual beliefs or affiliations. It’s growth and empowerment-centered, founded on the belief that we all individually co-create our reality alongside Source. We’ll be discussing Tarot as a secular, archetypal and ongoing narrative, a psychological tool and a powerful way to check in with yourself, explore life options, make informed decisions and come back to center.
If you have additional questions, please feel free to email me! If you’d like to upgrade your subscription to enroll yourself in the coarse, click the button below.
Happy October, witches!
