Happy Full Moon in Sag! If you’ve been fantasizing about packing your bags and booking a hotel room and plane ticket, furthering your education or initiating the next big hubris-fueled adventure of your hero’s journey, you’re pretty much right on que. Supportive and enterprising, the annual Full Moon in Sag favors growth-centered pursuits and rewards risk-taking, and honest attempts to expand — whether through physical travel (or maybe, like me, you’re starting to plan next summer’s vaca!), accepting new learning opportunities or even stepping into mentorship roles — are blessed with a bit of lunar luck. Remember that you’re both the writer and the protagonist of your grand narrative, and the Sag moon routes for those who aggressively back and believe in themselves with joy, humor and humility. Celebrate today by mythologizing and contemplating your complex life story, conducting a good spell to manifest your dream vacation or simply by surrounding yourself with animal companions and/or immersing yourself in nature. While this shouldn’t be an especially emotion-filled Full Moon, it is dynamic and stagnancy-averse; themes could arise related to our quest for freedom and personal liberation, and situations which require us to stay limited or endure restlessness are likely to heat up and gain momentum (or otherwise become intolerable.) Even though the Sag Moon is usually jovial and lighthearted, a tense T-square between the sky’s opposing luminaries and watery Neptune makes the vibe ultra sensitive, watery and shamanic (it’s fab for pulling tarot cards, embracing creativity and stoking the vibe of real intimacy, but it’s not so good for extraverted activities or anything which propagates a synthetic high.) The T-square could also instigate Sag’s more provocative, opinionated, even preachy nature — everyone is a little more married to their current beliefs (which, with Neptune’s present influence, could contain a quasi-spiritual or dogmatic element) which could potentially cause tempers to flare and arguments to heat up. Rise above by aligning to the moment’s mutability — stay adaptable and flexible, maintaining a good sense of humor despite (or because of!) the moment’s quickly evolving terrain, and if you feel like you’re either seeing ghosts or just on a natural hallucinogenic high don’t fret — it’s just the moment’s astro. Otherwise, celebrate today’s Full Moon as an opportunity to take a chance, believe in yourself and to reach for even a slightly more optimistic perspective — the Sag Full moon is your astrological benefactor!

Thursday, June 16th: The Gemini Sun squares Neptune in Pisces, a twice-yearly moment to sound the vibe-vampire alert and steer ultra clear of any situations — romantic, professional or otherwise — wherein someone alleges to need rescuing only you can provide, or tries to enlist your compassionate ear but uncomfortably soon in the relationship (or otherwise under pushy, intrusive or outright inappropriate circumstances.) A glamorous offer, a charismatic individual or an emotionally manipulative reach-out from an ancient-era lover could provide a temporary Neptunian high, and a subtle temptation to idealize a person or opportunity could send us straight into victim/martyr mode — avoid anything requiring you to compromise your boundaries or self-deprecate and if you’re presently entangled in any toxic victim/savior dynamics, today and the few days surrounding could present opportunities to firm up some boundaries and eliminate your involvement. Approach glamorous-seeming offers with a healthy sense of skepticism and ideally, refrain from making any big decisions until the Neptunian fog lifts. Our auras our more sensitive than usual to anything coarse or unrefined, so pay close attention to the people and situations today around which you feel a looming sense of ick — anything not in alignment with your unique vibration is much less tolerable and while it may not be avoidable anyway, it’s useful info to have. But the major benefit of this admittedly tricky astro is the creative genius it incites, along with it’s unique ability to heighten psychic abilities and deepen healthy intimate connections. Satisfaction today comes from dabbling in high-vibe Neptunian endeavors: re-visiting or cultivating a new spiritual practice or philosophy, embracing solitude and creativity, and engaging in the kind of deep, meaningful connection which offers real intimacy. And thankfully, today’s sun-Saturn synergy balances out the otherwise nebulous and fog-filled vibe, allowing us to greet duties, obligations and possibly even bureaucratic annoyances with more zest, vibrancy and personality than we’d usually be able to muster. If you need to run to the DMV, scrub the bathroom clean or make an important phone call, attempt the Saturnine project or errand today — either something lucky happens, or it just feels way more fun and satisfying than expected. Venus also aligns to the North Node today, inspiring fated love scenarios but we need to be careful with this given the moment’s Neptunian haze (even a dynamic that’s actually quite dysfunctional or simply incompatible can feel strangely and misleadingly past-life-related or “meant-to-be”.)

Saturday, June 18th: Though a tinge unromantic, today’s Venus/Saturn square is essentially helpful — Saturnine practicality and wisdom innately inform our approach to the Venus-ruled realms of dating, body image and finances today, maturing our perspective. In romance, think of it as an opportunity to solidify a worthwhile connection or to cut ties with those which are too flimsy or surface-level; if unpartnered and not currently dating, now is the time to clarify boundaries and refine and firm up any existing romantic protocol. For those in committed relationships, it’s a time to conduct any routine relational maintenance, ensuring that the current terms of the relationship still honor both parties and that the long-term trajectory of each individual continues to remain compatible. More broadly, a Venus/Saturn face-off is an opportunity to implement boundaries, strategies, and systems within our most pleasure-filled areas of life — use it to write up a budgeting plan, to start a savings account or to initiate calculated, wise, future-focused investments (and creatively, it’s good for coming up with artistically-engaging ideas which are also feasible — write up a business plan or collaborate with other creators who are usually either too far-reaching for your pragmatism or sometimes squelch your vision.) But if you’ve recently been in a full-on Neptunian love haze (complete with heart-shaped rose-colored glasses) the fog abruptly lifts today, providing a stone-cold and possibly harsh reality check. Barring that it stokes an unpleasant realization or illuminates romantic/financial messiness you didn’t know was there, you can look forward to this astro as an opportunity to organize your Venusian affairs and to create systems which allow you to master any annoyingly presented limitations (rather than becoming bogged down or suppressed by them.)

Sunday, June 19th: Venus and Neptune synergize, a wink from the Goddess of Love herself. Today’s mood is soft, sensual, and romantic; vulnerability and pleasure-seeking are favored and while we’re always capable of initiating an intimacy breakthrough, heart-centered connection with anyone, from a pal to paramour to a difficult relative, forms a little easier today. Other perks of this astro include heightened creative genius, razor-sharp intuition around fashion and art, and an increased ability to both empathize and to feel empathized with; enjoy it as a blip wherein the vibe on the street is more compassionate than usual, and even those who are usually awkward in intimacy or cranky to connection seem slightly more open (though you still won’t catch them starring alongside song-birds and talking trees in any upcoming Disney Romances.) There’s no bad time for a self-love spell or ritual but today, switching yourself into “receive” mode becomes a powerful affirmation — get a massage, revel in kindness and compliments, and open yourself to pleasure in the many ways it can show up.

Monday, June 20th: Mercury and Jupiter harmonize which is highly conducive to the open exchange of ideas and sudden mental downloads and breakthroughs. It’s fab for freestyle collaborating and if you suddenly become aware of something today or a perspective inexplicably broadens or expands, don’t write it off — the realization is legit. Remain open-minded while staying true to your beliefs, initiate deep conversations and anticipate good results.

Tuesday, June 21st: Happy Summer Solstice! The sun switches into Cancer until the end of July, officially marking the first day of summer and Litha for all witches north of the equator (my VMP subscribers will be receiving a separate newsletter about that soon!) Cancer Season is a time to hone your nesting instincts, to tend to your space (including your office, backyard, garden and the inside of your physical home!) and to connect to your innermost circle. It’s also a time where some of our most tender emotions are ready to come to the surface for examination — facilitate the process via journaling, tapping, or communicating your emotional truth to a worthy listener. Venus and Pluto also synergize today for the occasion, one of the best aspects for promoting deep intimacy and facilitating the formation of authentic relationships wherein we feel wholly accepted. Celebrate by conducting a shame-release ritual or dressing in a way that really authentically expresses your essence (it’s also fab astro for a dramatic beauty, style or relationship transformation.)

Wednesday, June 22nd: Venus leaves her ruling sign of Taurus for Gemini until the end of July which is a very different vibe — stimulating conversation, flirty banter and witty, playful teasing fuel the flames of attraction more than sensual couples-massages or lengthy bubble-baths for the next few weeks, so whether you’re courting a new lover or tending to a more long-term situation, double-check that the communication style — from serious chats over coffee to love-filled pillow talk and a flirty game of wits — is on point. Venus in this mutable air sign craves excitement and play, so if things have gotten a little stale or stagnant in a long-term relationship, this is your astrological invitation to shake things up and infuse some novelty whether that means introducing weekly date nights, signing up or a couples’ class, booking a surprise vaca or finding other new, refreshing ways to connect and interact. Tarot Card for the Full Moon in Sag: The Ace of Swords!

Our Tarot Card for the Sag Full Moon is the Ace of Swords from the Anima Mundi Tarot by Megan Wyreweden (the last time I pulled this card for us as a collective from this deck was the Cancer Full Moon on January 17th, so it might be worth thinking back on any themes relevant to that week which may once again come into play now, or otherwise reach a state of closure.) Our Tarot Card for the Gemini Moon Cycle is the Page of Pentacles, and in many ways the Aces and Pages are inextricably linked, each representing a portal or gateway into an exciting new beginning, opportunity or invitation. While the Page of Pentacles indicates that the Gemini Moon Cycle is a time to ask ourselves questions about who we really are at our core essence, to get curious about ourselves and to cultivate a stronger sense of confidence in our ability to contribute and self-express in the unique ways which only we can, today’s Full Moon in Sagittarius brings clarity around this as we experience the divinely-sent mental breakthroughs and inspired realizations represented by the upright sword depicted in the card’s image.
